Former Glacier Pilot Sues School

According to the New York Times, former ABL pitcher James Paxton (Pilots, 2008) has filed a lawsuit against his college, the University of Kentucky.

Paxton was drafted as a first-round supplement in 2009 by Toronto, but chose to return to college ball for his senior year. In the suit, Paxton alleges that he was asked to meet with an NCAA investigator, that he was instructed not to tell his lawyer or have one present at the meeting, was not told of the reason for the discussion, and was informed that he would not be able to play his senior season if he did not comply.

Paxton is considered to be the ace of the UK rotation. In 16 innings for the 2008 Glacier Pilots he gave up 4 earned, walked 5 and struck out 12.

At this point, I think it's wise for bloggers to keep their mouths shut, not having heard any more of the story other than what the scandal-obsessed media has published. Hopefully this will be resolved without too much bloodshed, James can continue his successful baseball career, and the University of Kentucky can keep sending their top prospects to the ABL. Of course, if you have an opinion on this matter, you're more than welcome to comment.
