A Retraction

This week, in my interview with Brian Bello, I made a mistake.

While I wrote that Brian led the ABL in HR and RBI, and was in the top 3 in several other statistical categories, this was incorrect. What I meant to say that he led the Bucs. This is one of those mistakes that is easy to incorrectly write and overlook when proofreading, but makes a big difference obviously!

To Brian's credit, in addition to making those rankings for the Bucs he was in the league's top 10 in several offensive statistics. I sorted the  numbers out and noted that Bello finished 2nd in homers, 3rd in runs, 2nd (tied) in triples, 8th (tied) in steals and 5th (tied) in RBI's. An anonymous commentator also reminded us that Bello made several phenomenal plays in the OF last season.

So, while I may have exaggerated Bello's rankings from 2009, I still stand by my position that he was a top offensive threat on the season and should be an exciting player to watch in 2010. Regardless, thanks to the anonymous tipster who pointed out my mistake. I will try to double-check these sorts of things in the future, and I appreciate anyone who calls me on my mess-ups.
