Some Random Stuff for Thursday

 A couple things...

First: does everyone have their DVR set for Saturday? This weekend brings with it the beginning of the 2010 Division 1 college baseball season, and on Friday and Saturday will be the Urban Invitational tournament featuring Cal State Northridge, UCLA, Southern U and Bethune-Cookman. The Saturday games will be televised on MLB Network, and I believe all the games will be available on MLB.TV.

We know that the Bucs have recruited Dominic Piazza, a catcher out of CS-Northridge, so there will be at least one face to watch for. I would not be surprised if there are some more ABL recruits in this game, especially with CS-Northridge and UCLA appearing, that we might not know about until the other teams release their rosters and the whole player-signing shebang is over with. I know I will be watching.

Second: I want to thank everyone for posting comments on my articles and making this blog more of a two-way discussion. That is one of my goals and I'm glad to be making progress in that direction. However, if I may make one humble request...if you are going to take the time to write out a comment, and especially if you intend to come back to this site and participate further, why not leave a name with your message?

You see, when a good conversation gets going and you have several people presenting their ideas and coming back to reply again and again, it gets a little confusing when multiple people all post under the name "anonymous". Now, I understand that not everyone wants to take the time to register, or maybe some folks don't want to reveal their true identity. That's fine, you don't have to. If you go to the comments section and look at the pull-down box where it says "post as anonymous" or whatever, you can change that to the "Name/URL option". This just lets you type in whatever you want. You can be "Lethario". You can be "BaseballGirl46". Whatever you want. It can be totally random and you don't even have to put in a password.

Of course, I will gladly accept all comments, even anonymous ones. But if you're going to be a regular contributor to this site -- and I definitely invite all readers to get involved and be heard -- why not give us a name to go with your thoughts?
