The Pro Prospects list is back!

That's right, the ABL Pro Prospects big list is back up. I've listed all ABL alumni (that I could track down...additions are more than welcome) who were in minor league, independent, or international baseball in 2009. I've updated the opening day league & team for many players -- nearly everyone who will start the year in full-season leagues -- and updated the status of those who have been traded, released, signed as free agents, etc.

It took me almost a week longer than I wanted. I've broken computers, stayed up past my bed time, learned firsthand why you save every five minutes, and pissed my wife off on more than one occasion. It's been a labor of love, and yes, a labor of hate. But now I can go back to writing about fun stuff because it is DONE...that is until a month or so from now, when I go through it all again to update everyone.

Take look at it. It should be pretty useful if you're trying to keep track of certain players, or if you are curious about which players in your area's minor league clubs might have come through Alaska. I have done my best to make it as complete as possible, but of course, I'm sure out of the 200+ former ABLers who were active in the minor leagues in 2009, I missed somebody. If you notice anyone I missed, or any errors, or have an update, by all means let me know and I would be more than happy to fix it up.

  1. Very nice. How hard would it be to make it a sortable table?

Also, have considered making a separate list for the players that made or are already on major league teams?

  2. Wow I'm an idiot, it is sortable - maybe I should've actually fully read the entry. Awesome.

  3. Thanks for the comments guys...and yeah, someday I will do more with the list of ABL to MLB players. I guess I thought someone had already done that? But anyway. I will, I'm just not sure where I want to stick it. And my first priority next time I do a big honkin' spreadsheet project is to whip up the draft prospects list.
